Confessions aren’t something you just give—they’re earned.
The right to be upset with someone, to demand an apology, to say “I’m sorry” for your mistakes, or to break up and be broken up with. But sometimes… you don’t get that right. We didn’t.
One early summer, Su-wan was washing lettuce by the garden tap when her eyes met Jin-ha’s.
Having spent the past few days doing housework because of a special guest her grandmother invited, Su-wan didn’t exactly look at him kindly. She thought, If I can just endure this once, I’ll never have to see him again.
But then something strange started happening.
He came over to her house almost every day, leaving his mark with his presence. He even helped her escape from the household chores—convincing her grandmother, who was obsessed with healthy food and constantly nagging Su-wan and her mom, to just order delivery.
Slowly, Su-wan began to look forward to Jin-ha’s visits, thinking about him more and more.
That winter, after running away impulsively to escape her grandmother’s hatred and her half-brother’s bullying, Jin-ha appeared in front of her. Warm food in hand, he offered words that felt like a gift:
“Let’s have private lessons. I’ll make you my junior.”
Their secret tutoring sessions started cautiously. At first, Su-wan just wanted to get into S University and show her half-brother up—but over time, her desire to see him grew stronger than her original goal.
She thought Jin-ha felt the same way. All that was left was a confession, and everything seemed perfect…Until she heard a shocking confession from her closest friend.
